Why we built this
Study establishes important principles. Avenor Partners provides the structure to put them to work on financial analysis and valuation.
In the first three weeks you interpret financial statements, build a comparable company analysis, and prepare a simplified discounted cash flow on a listed company of your choosing.
You then defend a listed stock pitch before a jury and develop an in-depth final report over four weeks.
Final report formats
Reverse-engineer a completed M&A transaction, examining the price paid, premium, implied multiples, and outcome in hindsight.
Build the case for a hypothetical acquisition, covering strategic rationale, synergies, and a considered valuation range.
Map recent M&A activity in a chosen sector, identifying who is buying whom, at what multiples, and why.
Each format is developed individually from Week 5 through Week 8 and culminates in one polished, in-depth report.
Curriculum
Select any week to see what you work on. The programme moves from financial statement analysis and valuation to a defended stock pitch and individual report.
Weeks 5 to 8
Select one of three formats and develop it from a focused outline into a polished, evidence-led report submitted at the end of Week 8.
Weeks 5 and 6
Choose the format and topic, establish the report structure, and build the numbers, tables, and evidence supporting its argument.
Weeks 7 and 8
Complete the first draft, connect evidence to the conclusion, then revise and submit the final version for assessment.
Outcomes
A financial health rationale, comparable companies table, and simplified DCF built from public company data.
A five to eight-slide investment case presented to a jury that includes an investment fund professional.
An in-depth individual report reviewed by the Strategic Advisory Board, alongside a Certificate of Completion.
Strategic Advisory Board
At the end of Week 8, the Board reviews every final report and provides written feedback on each final report’s analysis, valuation, and strength of argument.
